Sarah Jane Ball has over 20 years of work experience in various healthcare organizations. Sarah Jane currently holds the position of Associate Vice President Nurse Transformation at NMC Healthcare. Prior to this, from 2010 to 2023, they worked at Corniche Hospital, where they served as the Manager of Education, responsible for the management of the hospital's Simulation Centre and learning and development strategies. Before that, they were a Clinical Nurse Educator at Corniche Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
From 2007 to 2010, Sarah Jane worked at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City as a Clinical Nurse Educator, where they played a key role in educating staff members within the pediatric intensive care unit and was involved in curriculum development for the first Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) medical facility in the region.
Earlier in their career, from 2002 to 2007, they worked at St Georges Healthcare NHS Trust, initially as a Staff Nurse and then as a Charge Nurse & Educator.
Sarah Jane Ball has a diverse education history. Sarah Jane obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Healthcare Education from King's College London from 2010 to 2014. In 2015, they pursued further education at the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, where they obtained a certification as a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) in healthcare simulation education, which they continued until 2024. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2001, they completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Pediatric Nurse/Nursing at Kingston University. Additionally, they hold a Diploma in Children's Nursing (RN Child) from Kingston University from 1998 to 2000. In terms of additional certifications, Sarah Jane Ball obtained the Fellowship of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery (FFNMRCSI) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2022. Sarah Jane also holds certifications as a Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor Mentor from the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2012, and as a Basic Life Support Instructor from the American Heart Association in 2010.
