Dion Brown is an accomplished nonprofit executive leader with extensive experience in managing and directing nonprofit organizations. Currently serving as the Executive Director of the National Museum of African American Music since August 2023, Dion has previously held significant leadership roles such as the Managing Director of Nonprofit Services at NMBL Strategies, President and COO of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, and Founding Executive Director of the National Blues Museum. With a proven track record in defining visions, leading teams through strategic planning, conducting operational analysis, and building effective budgets, Dion has also been the Executive Director of the BB King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center and Chief Operating Officer at Exploration Place. An alumnus of Southwestern College with a Master's in Leadership and a Bachelor's in Human Resources Development, along with an Associate's in Information Resources Management from the Community College of the Air Force, Dion's background includes military service in the United States Air Force.
