Chad McCarthy is the CTO and Co-Founder of nLighten, overseeing all technical aspects since October 2021. Prior to this role, Chad served as Senior Director of Engineering Development and Masterplanning at Equinix from February 2016 to November 2021, where responsibilities included leading engineering development across global operations. Chad held the position of Director of Engineering at TelecityGroup, focusing on research and development, energy policy, and new technology adoption from November 2010 to February 2016. Earlier experience includes roles at Arup, where Chad established the Frankfurt office and managed pan-European engineering projects, as well as designing data centres at Norman Disney and Young. Chad began a career in engineering as a Senior Engineer at Arup, specializing in electrical systems design. Chad holds a degree in Power Electronics and Electrical Power Systems from The University of Auckland and completed the Corporate Finance Programme at London Business School.
