Matthew Yap has a diverse range of work experience in the field of biological research and education. Matthew started their career at UCLA Health as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in Medicine, specializing in Hematology and Oncology. Matthew then worked as an Undergraduate Learning Assistant at the Life Sciences Student Association at UCLA. In 2019, they became a Private Tutor at Varsity Tutors and later joined City of Hope as a Staff Research Associate in Immuno-Oncology. Matthew also worked as a Private Tutor at Wyzant during this time. In 2020, they joined Arcus Biosciences as a Research Associate in Quantitative Biology. In 2021, they moved to ArsenalBio, where they worked as a Senior Research Associate in Analytical Development until 2022. Matthew is currently employed at Nkarta, Inc. as a Senior Research Associate in Analytical Development.
Matthew Yap received their Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics from UCLA between 2015 and 2019. During the same period, they also obtained a Minor in Biomedical Research from UCLA. Before attending UCLA, Matthew completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma program at Xavier School in 2015. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications, including "Data Manipulation with dplyr," "Introduction to the Tidyverse," and "Joining Data with dplyr" from DataCamp in June 2020. Matthew also holds the International Baccalaureate Diploma, which they obtained from the International Baccalaureate in August 2015. Furthermore, they have completed several courses in R programming, such as "Intermediate R," "Intro to Statistics with R: Introduction," "Intro to Statistics with R: Student's T-test," "Introduction to R," and "Writing Functions in R" from DataCamp.
