Hal Real is an accomplished leader in the arts and music community, serving as Founder and CEO/Executive Director of World Cafe Live since 2002, fostering a vibrant space for community connection and learning since 2004. Real also holds significant positions as President and Founding Board Member of the National Independent Venue Foundation, Co-Founder and Board Member of the National Independent Venue Association, and Board Member of The Freire Foundation. Other notable contributions include Honorary Board Chair at People's Light and past Board Chair of the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation. An active participant in various cultural and educational organizations, Real's commitment to music and community engagement is further exemplified through co-founding LiveConnections.org and supporting the Philadelphia Fringe Arts. Hal Real earned a JD from Temple University and a Bachelor of Science from Kenyon College.
