Sahar Mazhar is a highly experienced scientist with a focus on cancer biology and therapeutic development. Currently serving as a Staff Scientist at Nitrase Therapeutics since October 2020, Sahar leads the Nitrase #2 Project. Prior positions include Associate Scientist at Rappta Therapeutics and Consultant at Michigan Medicine's Division of Genetic Medicine. Sahar's academic background includes a PhD in Pathology from Case Western Reserve University, where research involved investigating germline variants in the PP2A family and their implications in cancer predisposition. Additional experience encompasses work as a Research Assistant II, concentrating on anti-tumor efficacy and small molecule activators. The research at Icahn School of Medicine further contributed to understanding tumor suppressor mechanisms and developing cytotoxic agents.
