Aki Tomita has been in the technology industry for over 30 years. In 1986, they began their career as a Department Manager at Raychem/Tyco Electronics. In 1998, they became a Product Manager/Project Manager at Silicon Light Machines. In 2003, they were appointed President of Tucson Optical Research Corporation. In 2005, they co-founded and served as Interim CEO of Ribomic. In 2007, they were appointed Vice President of Business Development at X2 Technologies. From 2008 to 2013, they served as President of Citala US and CTO and Vice President of CTO at Citala. In 2020, they co-founded Niricson Software Inc. as CTO. Aki has been helping infrastructure owners maintain their assets cost effectively using proprietary damage assessment software paired with a patent-pending drone-based data collection technology. Aki successfully applied the technology to assess the condition of one of the dam structures in British Columbia, Canada. Aki is currently working with Techstars and Arcadis to expand the operations.
Aki Tomita attended Stanford University Graduate School of Business from 2001 to 2001, where they earned an Executive MBA in SEP. Aki then attended University of Arizona from 1976 to 1980, where they earned a Ph.D. in Optical Sciences.
