Marcel van der Meer is a seasoned scientist at the NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research, where employment commenced in July 2014, following roles as a Tenure Track Scientist and Postdoc from February 2006 to May 2014. Prior to this, Marcel held postdoctoral positions at Montana State University and Southern Illinois University between August 2001 and July 2004, and April 1997 to July 2001 at the Netherlands Institute for Sea Research as a PhD student. Marcel van der Meer earned a Drs degree in Biology from the University of Groningen, completing studies from 1989 to 1996, and previously attended RSG Meppel and RSG Gouda.
