Tom (Sijie) Bu has a diverse work experience in various companies. Tom (Sijie) started their career in 2018 as a Journalist Intern at Hubei Daily Media Group, where they gained experience as a photojournalist, videographer, and program composer. In 2018, they also worked as a Frontend SWE Intern at Beijing Aixiazi Technology Development Co. Ltd.

In 2019, Tom worked as an SWE Intern at Yangtze Memory Technologies.

From 2021 to 2022, they joined CIP United Co. Ltd. as a Software Engineer Intern, where they ported Arch Linux to the MIPS64 r6 architecture and created bug fixes for open source software.

Currently, Tom is working at Nimble Robotics as a Software Engineer, starting in February 2022.

Tom (Sijie) Bu pursued their education in the field of Computer Science. Tom (Sijie) completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Computer Science at Skidmore College, where they studied from 2015 to 2019. Tom then furthered their education by pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Media and Creative Technologies at the University of Southern California. Tom (Sijie) attended USC from 2020 to 2021. In December 2021, they obtained their Master of Science degree from the University of Southern California.
