Salvatore Minissale, PhD, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Salvatore began their career as a PHD student at Universiteit van Amsterdam, where they conducted experimental research on the photonic properties of optoelectronic systems and devices. After completing their PHD, they worked as a Postdoc at ICFO, conducting experimental research on light propagation and confinement in nanostructures. Salvatore then moved to Boston University Photonics Center, where they continued their Postdoc work, focusing on nonlinear optics and performing simulations on light scattering and propagation.
Following their time at Boston University, Salvatore joined Université de Bordeaux I as a Postdoc, conducting measurements and theoretical studies on the acoustic response of nanoparticles. Salvatore then worked as an Application Developer at IBM, involved in various projects such as data processing, web app development, and maintenance of application software.
Salvatore's next role was as a scientific consultant and software engineer at Science [&] Technology Corporation, where they worked on projects related to health monitoring of machines in the production line. Salvatore collected and analyzed sensor data using Python and R routines.
Salvatore then shifted their focus to the field of optics and joined Terabee as an R&D Specialist, where they designed and integrated optical sensor systems and provided solutions for specific applications.
Salvatore further expanded their optical expertise at ams AG, where they worked as an R&D Optical Test Development engineer. Salvatore was responsible for proposing measurements and methodologies, leading the validation plan, developing lab setups and analysis tools, and executing the measurements and data analysis. Salvatore also rescaled and deployed setups and methodologies across different departments.
Currently, Salvatore is an Optical Characterization Engineer at NIL Technology, where they continue to deepen their understanding of optical components through characterization work.
Salvatore Minissale, PhD, obtained their doctoral degree in physics from the University of Amsterdam between the years 2004 and 2009. Prior to this, they completed their undergraduate studies at Università di Catania, receiving a Laurea degree in Physics from 1998 to 2003. Salvatore's educational journey began at Liceo classico "Giovanni Verga" in Adrano, where they obtained a Diploma di maturità classica from 1993 to 1998. The field of study for their diploma is not specified.
