Wilco Baan Hofman is an experienced Infrastructure Specialist at ASTRON since March 2023, focusing on security, networking, and infrastructure design, including the network architecture for LOFAR 2.0 and the establishment of a Security Operations Center. With a longstanding role as an Engineer at NIKHEF since September 2012, Wilco has worked on wireless networking, high-availability solutions, and federative authentication systems. Contributions to various open-source projects since 2001 highlight Wilco's technical expertise across multiple domains. As Network Team Lead at Hack In The Box (April 2012 - July 2024), responsibilities included network configuration and developing load-balancing solutions. Experience also encompasses roles as Treasurer for Stichting Bitlair and Stichting IFCAT Foundation, managing finances while engaging in security and hacking events. Previous positions include Head of R&D at AndoBurg B.V. and various technical specialist roles. Wilco holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and multiple certifications from the Linux Professional Institute.
