Olumide Akpata is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in both the private and public sectors. Currently serving as the Edo State Governorship Candidate for the Labour Party Nigeria since February 2024, Akpata is also a Senior Partner at Templars, where leadership of the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group has been a focus since 1996. Involvement with the Nigerian Bar Association has included roles on the National Executive Committee and significant contributions to the Section on Business Law, including various leadership positions within the NBA-SBL Council. Contributions to the International Bar Association include representation and participation in key committees. A graduate of the University of Benin with a Bachelor of Laws, Akpata completed legal training at the Nigerian Law School.
