Idris Otun is a dedicated researcher and health advocate, currently serving as a Research Assistant and Entomology Technician for the National Malaria Elimination Programme at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, since October 2015. With a strong background in parasitology, Idris holds a PhD in progress and previously earned an MSc in the same field. Other roles include involvement with the African Leaders Malaria Alliance as a Malaria Youth Army member, representing the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene as a Student Ambassador, and acting as a Global Youth Ambassador with Theirworld from August 2021 to August 2023. Idris has further contributed to various health initiatives, such as Project SCHISTO and the Climate Leadership Fellowship. Additionally, Idris has gained educational experience as an Online Tutor for Nigenius and as a Programme Director of Science at the A-Level Institute.
