Harm Valk is a seasoned professional in the field of building technology and energy performance, currently serving as a Senior Advisor at Nieman Raadgevende Ingenieurs since August 1997, focusing on energy conservation and sustainability in both new and existing buildings, with an emphasis on practical performance, comfort, and indoor environment quality. As a Partner at Nieman Groep and the Chairman of the NTA 8800 Project Group and Energy Performance Commission within NEN since 2011, Harm Valk plays a pivotal role in the implementation and continuous improvement of energy performance standards in the built environment. Prior experience includes teaching building technology and materials science at Windesheim, project leadership and advisory roles in housing renovation at DHV Bouw, and coordination of resident participation at Woningstichting Tuinstad Zuidwijk Rotterdam. Harm Valk holds an Ir degree in Building Technology and Public Housing from Delft University of Technology and an ing. degree in Building Technology from HTS voor Bouw- en Waterbouwkunde.
