Mark Harrington has extensive work experience in the field of crisis, security, and safety management. Mark is currently the Vice President at NielsenIQ, responsible for global crisis management. Prior to that, Mark worked at Trans Union Credit Bureau, where they held the position of Senior Director for the Global Insider Threat Program, as well as Senior Manager for Insider Threat and Data Loss Prevention. Before transitioning to the private sector, Mark served as a Senior Evaluator at the Office of the DoD Inspector General, where they provided expertise in defense intelligence evaluations. Their career began in the United States Air Force, where they served as an Intelligence Officer in various command levels, including the U.S. Embassy in Brazil.

- In 2005 and 2006, they obtained a Diploma in Joint Operations, A and J-Staffs structures and functions from Brazilian Air Command and Staff College.
- In the same period, they also received a Certificate in Executive Masters Course of Business Administration from Universidade Federal Fluminense.
- From 2003 to 2004, they achieved a Distant Learning diploma in Joint Staff Process from Air Command and Staff College.
- Between 1999 and 2001, they earned a Master of Arts degree in International Relations from Florida International University.
- From 1988 to 1992, they completed their Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Citadel.
In addition, Mark Harrington holds a certification as a Certified Fraud Examiner which they obtained in 2018.
