Yi-Kai Lo began their career in 2014 as a Postdoctoral Scholar at UCLA, where they developed a miniaturized wireless implant to restore motor function. In 2016, they began working as a Principal Investigator for a Federal Grant, and also as the Chief Executive Officer for Aneuvo. In 2018, they became a Reviewer for a Federal Grant Review Panel.

Yi-Kai Lo completed their Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from National Chiao Tung University between 2000 and 2004. Yi-Kai then went on to earn their Master's degree in Electronics Engineering from the same university between 2004 and 2006. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioengineering (1st honor) from the University of California, Los Angeles between 2012 and 2014.
