Gry Alfredsen

Research Professor at NIBIO

Gry Alfredsen has extensive work experience in research within the field of wood durability and bioeconomy. Gry started their career as a Research Assistant at the Norwegian Forest Research Institute in 1998 and worked there until 2002. Gry then joined the Norwegian Forest and Landscape Institute in 2006, where they held the roles of Researcher and Research Professor. During their time there, they were part of a multidisciplinary research group that focused on various aspects of wood durability, including wood modification, natural durability, and service life prediction. In 2015, they joined the NIBIO Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research as a Research Professor.

Gry Alfredsen completed their education in a chronological order, starting with a Bachelor's degree in Botany from the University of Oslo (UiO) from 1989 to 1993. Gry then pursued further studies at UiO and obtained a Master's degree in Ecology and Mycology from 1994 to 1997. Finally, Gry Alfredsen attended the Norwegian University of Life Sciences from 2002 to 2005, where they received a Doctorate of Science degree in Wood Technology, Mycology, and Wood Preservation.
