Karl Gunnar Holter is a seasoned expert in engineering geology and rock engineering, currently serving as a Technical Expert at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute since February 2018. Holter has also held a part-time position as a Senior Specialist. In addition, Holter is the Animateur of Working Group 12 for the International Tunnelling Association since May 2019. Previous experience includes a role as Technical Manager for injection and waterproofing in underground construction with BASF, NTNU, and Bane NOR from January 2000 to February 2018, alongside an academic role as Assistant Professor in Engineering Geology at NTNU. Holter’s academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Engineering Geology and an M.Sc. from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, complemented by a graduate course in Hydrogeology from Chalmers University of Technology. Holter’s early career featured various roles as an engineering geologist, including significant positions in construction and geological survey work.
