Jan Örnstedt has a diverse work experience in the field of IT, with a focus on DevOps and system administration. Jan started their career as a System manager at KTH in 1991, where they worked for three years. Following that, they joined Svenska Institutet för Systemutveckling (SISU) as a System administrator, responsible for the design, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mixed infrastructures including Mac OS, Windows, and UNIX.

In 1997, they joined Sonera as a System administrator, managing ISP services running on Linux. Jan then moved to Sun MicroSystems in 2000, where they held roles as a Senior System administrator and Senior Service Engineer. Jan managed internal UNIX systems in the northern EMEA region, including Russia, and specialized in Sun Cluster, Solaris, and SunRay technologies.

Jan transitioned to Oracle in 2010 as a Senior Service Engineer before joining Svenska PostkodLotteriet as a Senior UNIX administrator in 2011. There, they managed over 200 UNIX systems, focusing on installation, patching, and automation with a preference for Solaris.

In 2017, Jan joined Svenska Spel as a DevOps specialist, a role they held until early 2019. Jan then joined Myndigheten för tillgängliga medier as a DevOps Consultant, where they set up a fresh Puppet 5 environment and implemented continuous deployment using Jenkins and Puppet Bolt.

Jan's most recent position was as a Consultant at RedBridge Group Sweden, where they gained extensive experience in DevOps and systems administration. Jan was a Puppet professional and a Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation.

In 2019, Jan embarked on a new opportunity at Nexus Group - Global as a DevOps Engineer, further expanding their skills and expertise in the field.

Jan Örnstedt received a Master of Science degree in Electronics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology from 1986 to 1991, earning 178 points. Additionally, in March 2020, they obtained a certification as a Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation from Red Hat.
