Karim Assi has a diverse work experience. Karim started their career as a Developer at OutNest from October 2017 to February 2018. Later, they worked as a Software Development Intern at MakerBrane in August 2019. From July 2019 to July 2021, Karim served as an Instructor at TechSpark Academy. Meanwhile, in February 2019, they joined EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) as a Student Assistant and contributed until January 2022. Then, they worked as a Junior Data Analyst at SPIE Switzerland from July 2021 to September 2021.
In February 2022, Karim started working at Nestlé as a Data Scientist. In this role, they led the development of a recommendation system tool for the consumer and sensory insight team. Karim designed a complex relational database and collected ten years' worth of consumer tests. Karim also developed a regression pipeline to model consumer liking of coffee products in different markets. Karim completed this role in August 2022.
Currently, Karim is employed as a Machine Learning Engineer at Nexthink, starting from April 2023.
Karim Assi's education history begins in 2001 when they enrolled at Grand Lycée Franco-Libanais Beyrouth. Karim pursued the scientific stream and completed their General Baccalaureate degree in 2016. Afterward, from 2016 to 2020, Karim attended EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) in Switzerland. During this period, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Currently, from 2020 to 2023, Karim is continuing their education at EPFL, pursuing a Master of Science degree in Data Science.
