Thomas Gerken serves as the Course Director for the Foundations of Data Science (Data 8) at UC Berkeley College of Computing, Data Science, and Society, leading a team of 65 staff members and overseeing a large undergraduate class. Experience includes roles as the Lead Undergraduate Student Instructor and Tutor, where Thomas supported thousands of students in foundational data science concepts. In addition, Thomas holds multiple leadership positions at NextGen Consulting at Berkeley, managing project teams while generating significant revenue through diverse client portfolios. Recent internships at Bain & Company, General Motors, and VIZIO further showcase Thomas's strategic and analytical capabilities in various sectors. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Data Science and Economics at UC Berkeley, Thomas combines strong educational foundations with practical experience in data science and business development.
