Tracy Payne has extensive work experience in various IT and financial roles. Tracy started their career in 1984 as a Base Cost Analyst in the US Air Force, where they worked until 1991. From 1992 to 1993, Tracy worked as a Senior Financial Analyst/IT Manager at Telic Enterprises. Tracy then joined American International Airways as a Senior Financial Analyst from 1993 to 1995. Tracy's next role was at Electronic Data Systems where they served as an IT Operations Manager from 1995 to 2000. Currently, Tracy is employed at Nexteer Automotive, initially joining in 2000 as a Global IT Infrastructure Manager and later becoming the Global IT Infrastructure & Operations Director in 2018.

Tracy Payne completed a Bachelor's degree in Business at the University of Michigan-Flint from 1987 to 1991. They then pursued a Master's degree in Mgmt Info Systems from 1996 to 1998 at Baker College Center for Graduate Studies.
