David Hazar has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. David is currently the Co-Founder and Chief Information Security Officer at Next Level3 Software, which focuses on providing account security solutions. Prior to this, David worked as an Independent Security Consultant at HazarDSec LLC, offering services such as vulnerability management and application security. David has also served as a SANS Certified Instructor at SANS Institute and held various roles at Deloitte, including Advisory Senior Manager and Manager in Cyber Risk Services. Additionally, David has worked at companies like Oracle, Healthagen, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, gaining experience in information security and risk management. David started their career as an IT Manager at Data Services Direct and later held positions at MetaSource and Provo City, where they managed IT infrastructure and security. Throughout their career, David has demonstrated expertise in security consulting, risk management, and implementing security programs.
David Hazar obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems from Brigham Young University in 2001. David later pursued a Master's degree in Information Systems Management from the same university, completing it in 2002. Additionally, David obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2002, they became a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). In 2004, they obtained the Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certifications. David further expanded their expertise by obtaining multiple Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) certifications, including GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) in 2012, GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT) in 2013, GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) in 2013, GIAC Mobile Device Security Analyst (GMOB) in 2014, GIAC Certified UNIX Security Administrator (GCUX) in 2015, and GIAC Certified Windows Security Administrator (GCWN) in 2015. Moreover, they also acquired the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification in 2011 and became a Certified FAIR Risk Analyst from RMI in the same year.
