Carlos Sanchez has had a diverse and extensive work experience. Carlos started their career at the National Research Center as a Research Assistant in 1988. Carlos then worked at Alcatel Cable, where they held various roles including Process Engineer, Process & Quality Manager, and Technical Services Manager. Carlos was able to increase capacity, reduce scrap rate, and improve customer satisfaction during their time there. Sanchez then worked as an Assistant Manager at a Bed & Breakfast and Restaurant before joining Nexans France as a Plant Manager. Carlos successfully concluded a labor agreement and completed the start-up of a dual shaft furnace. Sanchez later joined Nexans, where they held several roles including General Manager of the Rodmill Business Unit and Vice President & General Manager of the Electrical Wires Division. Carlos implemented strategies to increase sales, improve profitability, and reduce accidents. Carlos also developed a turnaround plan for a plant, resulting in significant financial gains. Sanchez's most recent role at Nexans was as Vice President & General Manager - NAM Metallurgy, where they launched a new product to address future trends and was recognized for excellence.
Carlos Sanchez attended College Français from 1967 to 1979, where they obtained a DEC in Pure Science. Carlos then went on to McGill University from 1979 to 1983, graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Metallurgy. From 1983 to 1984, Carlos studied Math & Computer Science at both McGill University and Concordia University. Carlos later pursued a Master of Applied Science in Metallurgy at Polytechnique Montréal from 1986 to 1988.
