Kelly Friend serves as Nexamp’s Vice President of Policy and Regulatory Affairs, having served in this position since April of 2018. In this role she leads Nexamp's policy-related efforts, shaping and advancing Company and industry engagement in legislative and regulatory processes across key solar markets. Kelly works closely with Nexamp’s project development and finance teams to anticipate policy-based risks and develop strategies to execute on emerging opportunities.
Prior to joining Nexamp, Kelly spent three years as a member of GE's Government Affairs and Policy team in Washington D.C., managing global government affairs for GE Hitachi and coordinating regulatory engagement and advocacy for GE's four electricity businesses.
Before GE, Kelly worked for Keller and Heckman in Washington D.C. as an associate in the firm’s chemical control, pesticides, and workplace safety practice groups. At Keller & Heckman, she assisted companies in navigating the complex set of environmental and health and safety regulations that govern the manufacture, sale, and use of chemicals.
Kelly holds a law degree from George Mason University School of Law, a master’s degree in political science from Suffolk University, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of New Hampshire. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband, their two sons and two pups.
