Joe Bullock has extensive experience in the field of business analysis and data technology. Joe worked at News UK from 2019, where they started as a Senior Business Analyst and later became the Lead Business Analyst - Data Technology. In this role, Joe led a team and managed various projects related to analytics, data science, editorial, and marketing. Joe also developed the BA discipline and community of practice, built strong relationships with stakeholders, and coordinated BA development and recruitment.
Before News UK, Joe worked at The MDU from 2013 to 2019 as a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, focusing on Tableau implementation and business-wide adoption. At Map of Medicine from 2009 to 2013, Joe held the position of Senior Business Analyst - Medical Content. Joe led the implementation of Qlikview and managed requirements for a referrals management product, receiving positive feedback and sales success from NHS CCGs.
Prior to that, Joe worked at Infonic as a Technical Project Manager/Team Lead from 2004 to 2009, where they led teams in development, pre-and post-sales projects, and support. Joe improved project and release processes and introduced training and support materials.
Joe started their career at Canon Research Centre as a Software Engineer/Project Lead from 1999 to 2004, where they led development streams, built collaborative relationships with offshore teams, and received excellent customer feedback. Joe also gained experience as a Software Engineer at Softwright and British Rail in the late 1990s.
Joe Bullock began their education journey in 1989 at the University of Cambridge, where they pursued a degree in Computer Science. Joe successfully completed their studies in 1992 and obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree. Joe then continued their academic pursuits at The University of Manchester, where they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Cognitive Science from 1993 to 1994. Afterward, they focused on further expanding their expertise in Computer Science by pursuing a doctoral degree. Joe successfully completed their PhD at The University of Manchester in 1998, solidifying their extensive educational background in the field.
