Ben Gast currently serves as the Academy Head of Coaching and Professional Development Phase Coach at Newport County AFC since October 2022. With extensive experience in youth development, Ben previously worked as an Academy Coach at Bristol City Football Club from August 2015 to September 2022, focusing on the under-13 to under-16 phases. Prior to that, Ben held a full-time YDP Coach position at Swansea City Football Club from August 2012 to July 2015, where coaching within a category 1 academy environment was a key responsibility. Ben's career began with a part-time Academy Coach role at another club, emphasizing the delivery of coaching sessions aligned with club philosophies. Academically, Ben holds a Master’s degree in Advanced Coaching Performance from the University of South Wales and a Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise from the same institution.
