Heidi Longton, CMP Fellow, CMM, DES has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over 25 years. Heidi has held various roles in multiple organizations, showcasing their expertise in convention and event planning, budgeting, and vendor management.

Heidi's most recent position was as the Director of Convention and Events at the New York State School Boards Association from 2015 to the present. In this role, they served as a statewide advocate and provided training for the association's 700+ boards of education. Heidi was responsible for managing the annual convention and events, including negotiating contracts, creating budget templates, and strengthening supplier partnerships.

Prior to their current position, Heidi worked as a Team Leader at Association Development Group, Inc. from 2013 to 2015. Heidi Longton, CMP Fellow, CMM, DES, has a comprehensive education history. Heidi obtained their Bachelor's degree in Food & Business Administration from SUNY Oneonta in 1987. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Social Policy from SUNY Empire State College, completing it between 1994 and 1996.

In addition to their academic achievements, Heidi has several professional certifications. Heidi became a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) in January 2002, and later enhanced their expertise by obtaining a Certificate in Meeting Management (CMM) from Meeting Professionals International in February 2009. Furthermore, they achieved the status of a Certified Facilitator from Meeting Professionals International in January 2017. In February 2010, Heidi became an Accredited Trainer through the same institution.

Continuing their professional development, Heidi acquired the Digital Event Strategist (DES) certification from PCMA in December 2020. More recently, in June 2019, they completed the Event Design Certificate Program Level 3 Mastery offered by Event Design Collective GmbH. Lastly, they achieved the prestigious title of CMP Fellow from the Events Industry Council in April 2022.
