Barbara Garnes is a seasoned professional in fashion design and education with a diverse background. Currently serving as the Fashion Design Makers Club Coordinator at New York Edge since July 2022, Barbara manages a team of designers and instructors while developing curricula for middle and high school students. Involved with Southern Hemisphere Design Group, Inc. as a Lifestyle Creator since March 2006, Barbara brings extensive experience from previous roles, including Visual Arts Specialist at Sports and Arts in Schools Foundation, where instruction focused on fashion design and sewing for youth. Earlier career highlights include a notable tenure as a Customer Service Specialist at Forever 21 and ownership of My Father's House, where Barbara designed home textiles. An alumnus of the Fashion Institute of Technology, Barbara earned a B.S. in Marketing with a specialization in Apparel Design, complementing a strong academic foundation in fashion/apparel design from Francis Lewis High School.
