Robert Payne is an experienced executive currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at NYCERS since May 2023. Prior to this role, Robert held the position of Vice President - Enterprise Strategy & Execution at American Express from September 2013 to September 2021, where a promotion was earned from Director in 2015. Robert's earlier experience includes serving as Engagement Lead - Strategy & Operations in M&A Advisory at EY from October 2007 to September 2013, with promotions from Managing Consultant in 2011 and Senior Consultant in 2009. Robert also worked as an Advisor to the Commissioner's Office at the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs from February 2006 to October 2007 and as a Network Technician at Verizon Communications from 1998 to 2003. Robert holds an MBA in Strategic Management from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and a BBA in Management and Entrepreneurship from Baruch College.
