Matt Phillips is currently an Area Scout for the New Orleans Saints. Previously, they worked as a Fundraising Call Representative for Ohio University Division of University Advancement and as a Football Recruiting Summer Intern and Northwestern University Athletics Intern at Northwestern University.
Phillips began their career in October 2014 with Ohio University, where they were responsible for soliciting and securing monetary donations via pre-assigned call list. Matt excelled in executing the fundamentals of making a quality call, including opening, updating information, rapport, ask levels, objection responses, and closing. Matt also prepared and maintained accurate records/data to monitor and evaluate results.
In May 2015, Phillips took on the role of Football Recruiting Summer Intern at Northwestern University. In this role, they helped put together Northwestern run for walk, organize and sort Student athlete community service hours, make flyers for tickets and other events using adobe Photoshop, put on three different high school recruiting camps, update Northwestern’s 2014-2015 football media guide, and edit Northwestern’s coaches in cars video.
Phillips’ hard work and dedication have led to their current position as Combine Scout for the New Orleans Saints. In this role, they are responsible for evaluating potential draft picks and free agents for the team. Matt uses their knowledge of the game and their eye for talent to help the Saints find the best players to build their team.
Matt Phillips graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Administration and a Minor in Business Administration. Matt currently works in the field of Sport Management.
