Patrick Allen is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in public health and regulatory leadership. Currently serving as Secretary of the New Mexico Department of Health since January 2023, Patrick previously held the position of Director (CEO) at the Oregon Health Authority from September 2017 to January 2023, where oversight included a workforce of 5,000 employees and a budget exceeding $15 billion. With a strong background in regulatory affairs, Patrick has also led various state agencies such as the Department of Consumer and Business Services and the Building Codes Division. Demonstrating a commitment to health equity and efficient regulatory practices, Patrick combines expertise in economics, gained through a Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University, with a proven track record in strategic leadership and agency management.
