Nicole joined New England Biolabs as a postdoctoral researcher in 2001 to study the kinetics of protein splicing. In 2006, after assisting in her first product launch, she moved into the Applications and Product Development Group to follow her new-found passion of bringing ideas through to commercialization. As a leader of the Amplification Development Group for over 10 years, she oversaw the modernization of that portfolio, launching reagents, resources, and technologies to serve numerous markets. In her current role of Executive Director of Applications and Product Development, Nicole oversees accomplished development teams who are responsible for shepherding new products from proof-of-concept through to commercialization, and supporting customers and collaborators far beyond product launch. Nicole is passionate about mentoring, data visualization and creating tools that enable discovery. She has also coached FIRST Lego League and Science Olympiad Teams and supports NEB’s involvement in the annual Genes in Space competition, in which students design molecular biology experiments to be performed aboard the International Space Station.
