Marcus Henry is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in government and healthcare sectors. Currently serving as the New Castle County Executive Elect and candidate for New Castle County Executive since April 2022, Marcus previously held various leadership roles in the New Castle County Government from 2011 to 2021, including General Manager of Community Services and Economic Development & Policy Director. As the owner and co-founder of BrightBloom Centers since 2014, Marcus has pioneered the first Applied Behavior Analysis healthcare centers in Delaware. Earlier roles include Director of Development at Wilmington Housing Authority and Vice President of Development at Delaware Valley Development Company. Marcus holds an MPA in State and Local Government Administration from the University of Delaware and a BA in Journalism from Howard University. Key accomplishments include negotiating the purchase of a former Sheraton hotel to create the Hope Center, providing essential services for unhoused individuals in New Castle County.
