Varisha Khan is an accomplished Trainer at New American Leaders since November 2021 and a City Council Member for the City of Redmond, WA, since January 2020, recognized as the youngest elected official in the city and one of the first Muslim women elected in Washington State. Khan played a pivotal role in drafting and enacting a moratorium on evictions and late fees during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, aimed at protecting residents' housing stability. Previously, Khan served as the Political Action Committee Director at OneAmerica, where the foundation for the OneAmerica Votes Muslim Committee was established. Additional experience includes positions as Communications Coordinator at CAIR-WA, Reporting Intern and News Contributor at The Seattle Globalist, and Middle Eastern Student Commission Director at the Associated Students of the University of Washington. Khan's early career also included roles in community organizing and research on discrimination, with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication—Journalism and Political Science from the University of Washington.
