Richard Wendel is an experienced engineering technician with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Penn State University. Currently at Neuralink since October 2020, Richard focuses on optimizing the advanced manufacturing process for needle cartridges, emphasizing production improvement, organization, and automation. Prior experience includes a role at Tesla as Engineering Technician III in Battery Cell Manufacturing, where Richard contributed to process development for new batteries, and a short contract position at Wabtech Corporation as an Electro-mechanical Technician, involved in assembly and testing of braking units and hydraulic components. Richard has also worked as a Procurement & Manufacturing Technician at Ultimate Rail Equipment, manufacturing train parts for Amtrak, and served briefly in the US Marine Corps, learning military logistics before being medically discharged. Additional education was pursued at UC Berkeley Extension from 2019 to 2020.
