Gene Zhang is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in data engineering and architecture across notable companies. Currently serving as Chief Architect for Data Engineering & Platform at Netskope, Gene specializes in the backend systems of cloud security products, addressing complex challenges such as multi-tenant scaling and performance optimization. Previously, as a Distinguished Architect and Senior Director at eBay, Gene led the development of a cloud-native data platform and distributed systems. Gene also held the position of CTO at Futurewei Technologies, Inc., and was an IBM Distinguished Engineer with a focus on database analytics. Gene's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA and various degrees from prestigious institutions, culminating in a solid foundation in computational mathematics from Zhejiang University.
