Tom Abert is Netshield’s Chief Financial Officer. As a senior financial and operational executive, he has a special expertise in Intellectual Property-driven industries in start-up, growth, and turn-around environments. Tom understands how to bring a vision to life, making a business from a technology; offering a rich background in life sciences and technology management to help scientists and engineers move innovative technologies into commercial markets. Past highlights include the launch and growth of Hifi.com, a start-up venture for Cambridge SoundWorks (owned by Creative), and the launch, growth, and management of PC Connection’s online business and online service center. Early technology development and management experience was at AT&T, including Bell Labs, where Tom helped develop global multimedia networks and applications, and worked with a global network of partners to establish a constructive pricing and payments regime. His career began in finance, in both corporate finance and trading. Tom holds an AS in computer science, a BA in music theory with minors in management and finance from Keene State College, and an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia.
