Orfeas Menis Mastromichalakis serves as the Head of Artificial Intelligence and Co-Founder at Nerion since March 2022, with a background as a Project Manager and Software Engineer. Currently, Orfeas holds similar roles as a Project Manager and Software Engineer at ThinkCode and at the Artificial Intelligence and Learning Systems Laboratory, where involvement includes research and project management since November 2019. Prior contributions to the Council of Europe from June 2021 to December 2022 included participation in the AI literacy Expert Group as a junior trainer for a youth-focused training course on Artificial Intelligence. Orfeas is pursuing a PhD in Explaining Deep Neural Networks at the National Technical University of Athens and holds a Master’s degree in Science, Technology and Society from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. Educational qualifications also include an Integrated Master in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and Instituto Superior Técnico.
