Graham Appleby is an Honorary Research Associate at the British Geological Survey, where involvement continues in unpaid work within the geodetic community following retirement in May 2019. Prior experience includes serving as Head at SGF Herstmonceux from 1990 to 1998 and as a Support Scientist in the Space Geodesy Group at both the Royal Greenwich Observatory in Herstmonceux (1981-1990) and Cambridge (1990-1998). Their academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Orbital Dynamics of Artificial Satellites and Space Geodesy from Aston University and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Brighton.
