Mark Scheeff has extensive work experience in product development and engineering roles. Mark began their career at Interval Research, where they worked as a Member of the Research Staff on various projects related to human response to robots. Mark then joined Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as a Mechanical Engineer 4, specializing in small to medium-sized projects and cross-disciplinary work.
In 2004, Mark co-founded Hummingbird Scientific, a company that builds tools for electron and ion microscopes. As the Director of Engineering, they designed and delivered tools for manipulating samples in a Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) for clients in nanotechnology, materials science, and biology.
In 2007, Mark became the VP of Product Development at Loma Vista Medical, where they played a significant role in the startup's success, leading them from two people in a garage to a successful acquisition. During their tenure, they developed advanced medical balloons using high-strength fiber, with their first product supporting the percutaneous implantation of a prosthetic aortic valve.
Mark then joined CR Bard in 2013 as an R&D Director and Principal Engineer after CR Bard acquired Loma Vista Medical. Mark'swork included handing off product pipeline and key technologies to Bard, as well as developing ideas for new products in structural heart, next-generation fiber balloons, and dialysis access.
In 2018, Mark joined Neptune Medical as the VP of Product Development and a member of the Board of Directors. Neptune is focused on building a suite of products around Dynamic Rigidization technology. Later in the same year, they also took on the role of VP of Product Development at Triton Medical Robotics, a division of Neptune Medical. They are working on developing a fully flexible medical robot for deep anatomy reach, with the aim of disrupting flexible endoscopy and setting new standards in outcomes.
Throughout their career, Mark has consistently demonstrated their expertise in product development and engineering, contributing to the success and growth of the organizations they have been a part of.
Mark Scheeff obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, graduating in 1991. Mark then pursued further education at the same institution and completed their Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University in 1995.
