Melissa Carlson is a Senior Quality Compliance Engineer at Shockwave Medical, with extensive experience in quality compliance, regulatory affairs, and product performance engineering. At Shockwave Medical, responsibilities include overseeing adverse event investigations, collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance, and performing risk assessments. Previously, as a Regulatory/QS Specialist at RCRI, Inc., Melissa prepared Clinical Evaluation Reports and assisted in regulatory submissions and inspections. At Abbott, Melissa focused on medical device complaint investigations, supporting manufacturing processes, and mentoring staff. Early in the career as an Interpretive Naturalist at Minnesota Zoo, Melissa designed and presented educational programs on conservation and animal behavior. Melissa holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor’s Degree in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior from the University of Minnesota.
