David Walther has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. David currently serves as the President at Nelumbo, Inc since January 2022, where they are responsible for technology development and implementation for Ice-Nein and Mineral product lines. David also manages the growing IP portfolio. Prior to this, they worked as the Senior Vice President of Engineering at Nelumbo, Inc from April 2016 to December 2021. In this role, they were responsible for process development engineering, technology documentation, standard operating procedures, and management of the IP portfolio.
Before joining Nelumbo, Inc, David worked as a Principal at Manufacturing, Process Development and Technology Transfer Consulting from May 2015 to April 2016. From June 2012 to April 2015, they served as the VP of R&D at Cobalt Technologies. David had also worked as the Sr. Director of R&D at Cobalt Technologies from January 2010 to June 2012 and as the Director of Engineering from April 2007 to January 2010.
David also had advisory roles at Fruition Sciences from March 2007 to January 2012 and worked as a Research Engineer at Berkeley Sensor and Actuator Center (BSAC) from August 2001 to April 2007. David served as an Adjunct Professor at Santa Clara Univ from December 2000 to May 2001 and as a Research Engineer at UC Berkeley from September 1998 to April 2001.
David Walther has an extensive education history. David obtained a PhD in Thermosciences from the University of California, Berkeley, between 1993 and 1998. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering and another BS degree in Materials Science & Engineering at the same institution from 1988 to 1992. Before attending the university, David attended San Rafael High School from 1984 to 1988.
