Cris Lovell-Smith is an accomplished professional in the field of artificial intelligence, currently serving as the Head of Artificial Intelligence at Harvest Hub Ltd since July 2023, where responsibilities include overseeing the technical roadmap and leading a technical team. At the Nelson AI Institute, a position held since February 2020, Cris has focused on product definition and AI proof-of-concept development, collaborating with various stakeholders. Previous experience includes roles at Continental, DENSO, and ADASENS, where expertise in computer vision and machine learning was applied to advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), algorithm development, and project leadership. Cris began a career in software development and research, with a strong academic background in computer engineering from the University of Canterbury, earning both a Master's and Bachelor's degree.
