Michael Butchko is currently the VP of Business Intelligence Services at NeighborWorks. Prior to this, they served as the Deputy Director of Field Operations, where they were second in command over a division of 85 FTEs. In this role, they managed regions in expanding and contracting the network. Michael also administered the annual grant budget of $62 million and led a team of three employees.
Butchko has extensive experience in housing rehabilitation grants, having deployed a quick-response strategy to administer Congressionally-mandated $35 million housing rehabilitation grants during the housing crisis. Michael also led the creation of a competitive, analytical membership application process to increase consistency and transparency using replicable criteria, priorities and impact metrics along with market data to identify service gaps, mitigate risk, and address strategic plan goals.
In addition to their work in housing rehabilitation, Butchko has also been responsible for overseeing the consolidation of eight regional offices into five to increase staffing efficiency during 2011. Michael has also chartered over 45 new NeighborWorks Network organizations during their 7 year tenure.
Michael Butchko has a Master of Science in Public Policy Analysis from the University of Rochester and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wilkes University. Michael also has certification from Excellence In Governance as a Certified Board Governance Coach.
