Ravenna Michalsen is an accomplished cellist and educator with extensive experience in various teaching and performance roles. Currently serving as a Cello Instructor at Hopkins School and an Orchestra Teacher at The Foote School, Ravenna is also a Section Cellist with the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra and teaches at Point Counterpoint Summer Music Camp. As the Founder and Director of Dignity Music, a non-profit organization, Ravenna integrates classical music with social and environmental advocacy. Additional roles include serving as a sub in multiple symphonies, a Wedding Cellist with Divina Strings, and a faculty member at Neighborhood Music School, where Ravenna is launching an online music education program. With a solid educational background that includes degrees from Yale University and the University of Colorado Boulder, Ravenna brings a rich blend of arts and academics to the music community.
