Peter Lewis is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in oil, gas, and coal law. Currently serving as a Staff Attorney at Neighborhood Legal Services since February 2020, Peter previously held the position of Partner at Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP from May 2018 to June 2023. Peter also contributed as Of Counsel at Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC from 2006 to 2023, overseeing title opinion preparation and abstract review for energy sectors in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. As the owner of a solo practice from 2001 to 2006, Peter focused on representation of oil and gas developers, commercial bankruptcy, and real estate. Prior to that, Peter was a Partner at Sheffer, Hoffman, specializing in coal and oil and gas law, as well as residential and commercial real estate. Peter earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Washington & Lee University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in European History from Indiana University Bloomington.
