Matt Lifsey, PE, DBIA has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Matt began their career at the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) in 1990, where they held various leadership positions for 24 years. In their most recent role at SCDOT, they were responsible for overseeing the procurement of design-build projects statewide. From 2014 to 2016, Lifsey worked as the Executive Vice President at OLH Inc., where they oversaw construction management and engineering design services. Since 2016, Lifsey has been with Neel-Schaffer, Inc., initially serving as the Carolinas Operations Manager and currently holding the role of Vice President, Business Development for the SC/NC/GA region. Matt is a registered Professional Engineer in multiple states.
Matt Lifsey, PE, DBIA completed their high school education at Sumter High School from 1982 to 1986, earning a diploma. Following that, they attended Clemson University from 1986 to 1990, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering. In terms of certifications, they obtained the DBIA certification from the Design-Build Institute of America in May 2018. Additionally, they are a registered Professional Engineer in South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, and Georgia, although the specific dates of when they obtained these certifications are not provided.
