Jonathan Ridley

Head: Specialised Business Solutions (industries) at Nedbank

Jonathan Ridley has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Jonathan started their career in 1990 as a Soldier in the South African Department of Defence, where they received basic training and specialized as a signal man. Following this, they worked in various clerical positions in Investments, Securities, Collections, and Retail Relationship Management at Standard Bank Group from 1991 to 1997. From 1997 to 2004, they served as a Small Medium Enterprise Commercial Client Manager and later as a Commercial Client Relationship Manager at Standard Bank Group, focusing on relationship management and achieving financial results. In 2008, they joined Nedbank as a Business Banking Area Sales Team Manager and later held roles such as Divisional Head, Business Banking: Investment Management and Divisional Business Head for Transactional Banking, Global Trade, and Investment. Most recently, they served as the National Head for Commercial Investment Products at Nedbank, leading a functional team in developing investment products and solutions for business clients.

Jonathan Ridley has a diverse education history. In 2014, they completed the Executive Programme in Management of Function at Duke University's The Fuqua School of Business. Prior to that, in 2011, they attended GIBS Business School, where they completed the Senior Management Programme. In 2002, Jonathan earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning from the University of the Free State. Jonathan also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, which they obtained in 2002 from the University of the Witwatersrand. In 1997, they graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in Business Economics and Accounting from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika. Additionally, Jonathan completed their Matric at St Albans College in 1989. Jonathan has also obtained various certifications, including Certified Financial Planner (CFP) from The Financial Planning Institute - SA in 2002, and several LinkedIn certifications in WordPress, Design Thinking, and Product Management.
