Richard Baier serves as the President and CEO of the Nebraska Bankers Association, overseeing strategic leadership and administrative functions for a trade association representing 162 banking institutions since March 2014. Previously, Richard held roles such as Executive Vice-President for the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Director of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, assisting in the state's economic growth initiatives during the tenures of Governors Mike Johanns and Dave Heineman. Richard's earlier experience includes leadership positions with the Development Corporation of North Platte and the York Area Chamber of Commerce and Development Corporation, as well as an Assistant City Administrator role with the City of La Vista. Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Fort Hays State University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
